Golf Tips
If you want to learn the game of golf then look no further as we have useful golf tips to help you improve at every area of the game. There are many methods being taught about how to learn the game and it can get confusing to decide which approaches will really work for you. We believe that the best way to learn the game is from the green back to the tee so we first look at putting and the short game and then slowly move onto the long game and driving as well as covering key aspects of the mental game.
Putting:
Learning how to putt well can be a difficult challenge for many new players as they do not understand what it really takes to become good at this part of the game. The first step is to pick a certain mechanical approach to putting. It is important to understand that there are many potential putting strokes that can work well for you so do not think that there is a magical putting style that will allow you to make every putt as even the best putters 3 putt on occasion.
You can either learn a putting style by watching some of your favorite pros on television or you can take a lesson from a local pro and follow the method they recommend and teach. It is important to stick with one fundamental putting technique only making minor refinements along the way to get better. The key to great putting is to trust your stroke and practice it enough especially on short putts so that you have mastered the basic mechanics. Click here for more putting and short game tips.
Driving:
The driver is the most difficult club in the bag to hit and requires the most precision in order to hit well on a regular basis. It is also the longest club in the bag and even the smallest swing flaw can send the ball off target and into trouble. One of the keys to driving the ball better is to first learn how to hit your wedge shots and shorter game shots well. The full swing is simply an extension of the smaller swings so if you can hit the wedges really well then hitting your driver well will become a lot easier.
Picking the right kind of driver for your game is important and can make a difference. If you have high club head speeds and hit the ball over 120 mph then you will want to use a stiff flex shaft driver with low loft under nine degrees. However if your club head speed is under 100 mph then go for a regular flex with loft over 10 degrees for maximum distance and carry. Click here for more full swing and driving tips.
Mental Game:
The right mental approach can also help you greatly in shooting lower scores and playing better golf. Course management is an important aspect of the mental game and you need to hit shots on the course that are high percentage. Do not let your ego get in the way and try to hit risky shots just because your playing partners are doing the same. Developing a solid routine is also a key aspect of the mental game of golf.
