The golf swing can seem quite complex and it is easy to get frustrated with lack of improvement. The first thing you need to learn is the grip, there are a few different grips you can use however the interlocking is usually the most popular and tends to work well for most people. For right handed players the interlocking grip involves locking the small finger of the right hand with the index finger of the left hand.
The Stance:
When setting up to the ball you want to make sure that you are bending from the hips and not bending the spine too much. The ball position will vary depending on what club you are using, for the wedge the ball is at the centre of the stance and it moves gradually towards the left foot as the clubs get longer until it is lined up with the left foot for the driver. Start the backswing with the left arm pushing back and be sure to avoid using your right hand during the backswing (right handed players) as this can lead to steep club head path that can cause crooked shots.
Balance is very important in the golf swing so be sure to always have good balance otherwise this can lead to bad swings. If you are losing balance a lot then this probably means you are trying to swing too hard so try putting a little less effort in as this should help improve balance and allow you to make better swings. Swinging harder does not always result in longer shots so sometimes you can swing with less physical power but since your swing is more accurate you make better contact and the ball goes a lot further and straighter.
