Do you need help improving your golf swings? Have you reviewed your golf swings and are not happy with your results? Reviewing your swings and recognizing the need for more or better golf instruction is your first step to becoming a better golfer.
For some of us it is difficult to admit we have developed bad habits or have gathered misunderstandings which are affecting our game. The game of golf demands constant improvement and refinement to accomplish successful swings.
To not offend you, I will speak for myself. I admit I can be stubborn and I will keep digging myself deeper and deeper into a rut because I keep telling myself that practice and time will help me to becoming a better golfer. The truth is I am getting worse. If you are anything like me, there is a point when reality needs to be faced and corrective measures taken.
All the practice and time in the world will not correct a poor golf swing because I am doing it wrong and I cannot or am not able to see the fault or faults causing me not to improve.
The error does not have to be major. Often times, it is a small inaccuracy.
Like most golfers I still try for perfectionism. And I so want to have the perfect golf swing. You are probably trying to do the same.
Have you discovered, as I have, that by trying "too hard" we become very tight and frustrated in both our physical and mental attitude?
If you have not done it as yet, it is worth a trip down memory lane to evaluate your personal improvements and accomplishments. Ever since the first day of playing golf, I found this to be a great way to help relieve unnecessary self-induced stress and tension.
Think about:
- The first day we played golf and how it felt good just to hit the ball
- The day we stopped creating divots every time we attempted to hit the ball
- We were pleased the day we hit a long distance ball
- We graduated from hitting the ball away from the target
- How about the day we landed the ball into the target?
- The day we won all bets
Everybody needs a refresher help course with their golf swings.
Help or instruction may be needed with our:
- Grip
- Stance
- Body alignment and posture
- How, when, and where to focus on club head, golf ball, or target
- Golf swing biomechanics
- Mental and physical health and wellbeing
- Mental attitude and mental focus
- True corrections and tips
- Updated equipment
Do not forget that there are good days and bad days. Today we may need to recognize the necessity for instructions from a professional golf instructor.
I can recall when it was hard for me to not listen to my well-meaning buddies. I did not want to hurt their feelings. However, there comes a time when a person needs professional training.
Professional lessons are offered at public golf courses, community schools, golf seminars or workshops. Private classes in the privacy of your home or office with a professional golf instructor may be preferred. Or online video and audio instructions may also be considered.
