One of those sports that people tend to get really frustrated with when they first start is golf.
The thing is, no one can be a pro at anything when they first start something. It takes years and years of practice to get good at any sport, let alone golf.
The key is that you need to be patient with it and you need to practice at it. Like, you can't just go out to a course and play and think you'll be good.
Practice is incredibly important. Not only do you need to get in your rounds at the course, but you also need to hit the driving range as much as you possibly can. Once you're at the driving range, make sure to work on hitting each one of your clubs. Start with your woods and work your way down so you can get a feel for how far you're able to hit each one of your clubs. By learning how far you can hit the ball with each club, then you'll be able to figure out what club to use depending upon how far you are away from the hole when you're playing the links.
Then, after going to the driving range, it would be a good idea to hit the putting green. At the putting green, work on how to read the lie of your ball and what you need to do to put it in the hole. You should also work on your short game when around the putting green as well so again, you can figure out how far and what you need to do in different situations on the links.
In addition to practicing, you also need to have the right equipment when golfing. You might just think that you need clubs, well, that's true. However, the clubs that you get have to be the right size for you. If they're too long or too short, you won't be able to hit the ball right. You'll also need to purchase golf shoes, a quality bag to put your golf clubs in, some comfortable clothes, and a golf glove to protect your hand.
When it comes down to it, if you're just starting out golfing, don't get frustrated with it. It simply takes a lot of time to master. Be patient and good things will come to you in the end. When you're firing solid rounds, you'll be happy that you stuck with it.
